Definition of Giftedness
The term gifted and talented refers to students who show evidence of superior intellectual ability and potential in specific academic domains and demonstrate abilities such as leadership, creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking. These children require additional academic services provided along with their regular classroom environment.
About The Program:
The Gifted and Talented Program is a district wide program for select students in grades 4 and 5. The program strives to challenge these unique learners in a creative and enriching fashion, while promoting higher order thinking and enhancing opportunities for lifelong learning. The students will be exploring many engaging topics throughout the year designed to encourage fluent, flexible thinking and fostering creative problem solving skills. |
